My Montana Clinical Professional Counselor license is #33034.
My Montana Marriage and Family Therapist license is #30892.
I was first licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California in 2009,
If you are seeking Telehealth rather than in person counseling services, in addition to being licensed in Montana and California, I am also licensed in Idaho as a Marriage & Family Therapist, license #6870.
Many Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs or LMFTs), myself included, do not work with couples, though the title suggests otherwise. I specialize in working with individuals and families, but not couples at this time.
"How does billing my insurance for psychotherapy work?"
I handle billing with insurance companies I am in network with, as well as those I am not in network with that allow out of network billing.
Prior to meeting with me, please look into the status of your deductible for mental health services, if you have one, so that you will not be unpleasantly surprised by having to meet the deductible prior to your insurance company paying for our sessions. A sliding scale fee may be possible until your deductible is met. Also, please find out whether you will have a copay or coinsurance for mental health services, also called behavioral health by insurance companies, and what the amount will be each session, so you can factor that into your decision to begin therapy at this time.
"Do you work with couples?"
Not currently. At this time my counseling psychotherapy practice is focused on individual adults, adolescents, children, and families.
